Ms Valnora Edwin resigns as Executive Director after 18 years of service to CGG

Executive Director of Campaign for Good Governance Valnora Edwin has resigned her position after 18 years of service to the organization including her tenure at the leadership. 'Aaaaaaa' was the first reaction from all in attendance, and the room went quiet when she broke the news to her staffs, some with shock and others surprised of her decision.

She will be stepping down soon but will still be part of the organization as CGG is a family. She admonished all to have passion for the work we do and the values the organization have been living for, encouraging staffs to be supportive and position CGG to higher heights.

Ms Valnora Edwin, has served CGG first as Human Right Officer in 2000, and later senior staff in the Programs Department before she assumed the position of Executive Director in 2006. During her tenure the organization have received more visibility, greater respect and trust from citizens and partners including colleague Civil Society Organizations. CGG continues to be the platform for citizens engagement and participation for governance and democratic consolidation, and have stood the test of time.

She will be missed for her leadership and her drive for consistent result in the activities of the Organization. Ms Edwin is a strong and brave, result oriented leader with great passion for her work. She is also friendly and relates with her staffs well. She always encourage women to perform and provide result, as she believes in the capability and positive mental attitude of women.
